We still miss Jeremy very much, but we are both faring well.
As grieving goes, Rosemary's grief manifested in her eating habits. She stopped being an adventurous eater and clung to what was of comfort: red beans & rice, spaghetti and meatballs , eggs & bacon, pb&j... Familiar easy favorites. It was a small means of maintaining some kind of connection to our life before the loss. It made sense, but also made for much frustration.
She turned a corner this summer, which made me do the happy snoopy dance (cue Vince Guaraldi music)...
But we hit a new snag when she admitted that she did not want to eat the hot lunch being served at her new school (and I cannot be there to cajole and encourage her to try it... Which is usually when she realizes her fears are unfounded).
What's a Mommie to do? Get creative and get busy planning some kick butt lunchiness for her Crumbsnatcher. Lunch pics, recipes, who knows what... But I want to enjoy making her lunch, and blogging it makes it more fun for me. I may even include my own lunch along the way!
But what matters is this:
