Falling.

It finally feels like that season between summer and winter, here in Nola.

Ro wore her favorite pink hoodie to school, and was excited to see that her lunch was a familiar favorite:
-turkey sausage slices
-apples
-frozen yogurt tube
-cheese sticks
-carrot sticks

Not very autumnal, I admit. But she isn't a pumpkin spice latte type, and neither am I. Heh.

What I am is a stew-er. Which is why I'll be making some small chicken pot pies tonight to have for my lunch and test drive with her to see how chicken soup-y things go over.

I also have some lamb curry in the freezer, but I know it's too spicy for her.

Constantly I wonder what direction to go in to get her to cozy up to some lovely old fashioned slow pot-cooked favorites beyond the red beans and rice (and yes, I've already decorated a portion for lunches this week.)

Trudging forward to develop her appetite. Maybe chicken soup with rice is the answer? At least she can sing the song while I cajole her to eat it...
