Ro had red beans and apples and goldfish for lunch.
I had some amazing sauerbraten from the deli downstairs from my office as my director and I began purging, cleaning, and rearranging furniture.
We've been in this office since fall of 2006, and it was a little wonky getting settled here. Needless to say, we've never quite gotten to an "everything in its place" place.
The need for "mise en place" is a crucial tenet for cookie types like us. Organization in the kitchen is very necessary. It keeps you running smoothly during crazy meal service, those nutty Saturday nights when the orders are relentless and it seems like the whole menu is on its way to being 86'd.
Today was cleansing. We talked, we trashed, and set aside for the shredder, and started to rejuvenate this space.
Tonight, my dad is taking us to Ro's favorite restaurant: Reginelli's pizza. (Yeah, I know. But it's a good local chain, and I'm thankful it's in our neighborhood). As we see what Karen may drag our way, it's nice to think that my mind is already in renovation mode.
I don't think (crossing fingers and humming its going to take some time) this will be some insane storm weekend. But I'll have my flashlight and non-perishables on hand all the same.
We've only just begun...
(Haha.)
