well, the first day of festival (for me, at least) was rather non-stop. as with any opening day, it had it's bumps, but overall it was absolutely one of the best and most beautiful jazz fest days i can recall.
between what i can recall from childhood and before college, to figuring out how to get our exams out of the way so andy could accompany me from UCF, to now, as the last 5 years have offered me a whole new festival experience: the day was practically perfect.
and i think there was some music too. haha. i don't always get to slow down and check out a set. but when i do, i relish it.
if you're going, bring a hat, wear sunscreen, and know that the food is outstanding this year.
and in keeping with the whole point of this blog, here is a list of what *I* had for lunch yesterday (and then some!) :
- bbq chicken sandwich
- louisiana crawfish po-boy
- soft shell crab po-boy
- pork chop sandwich
- crawfish spinach zucchini bisque
- cuban sandwich
- pheasant quail andouille gumbo
- cha gio (vietnamese egg rolls)
- rosemint iced tea
- fresh squeezed lemonade
- iced coffee
- cracklins
and there's still more eating to do... and today, we have Mr. Okra on site.
so much to do for a festy saturday!
